Well, you can actually experience it live from Poon Hill. You will have to visit it yourself to experience it first-hand. Annapurna Sunrise Trek, likewise called Ghorepani - Poon Hill Trek, is a wonderful trek for the general population who love short and pleasant treks. This endeavor offers brilliant natural vistas from Poon Hill at 3,210 meters. Poon Hill is a hill station that is well known for viewing the sunrise. The photo-perfect scenes of sunbeams falling on the surface of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri can't be depicted in words. The trek begins along the banks of the Modi after the short drive from Pokhara to Nayapul. You will see remarkable views of Mt.Machhapuchhre (6,993m), Mt.Annapurna I (8,091m), and Mt.Dhaulagiri (8,167 m), Mt.Annapurna South (7,219m), and different peaks.

The trail will take you past many Gurung villages, including Ghandruk, Ghorepani, Tadapani, Birethanti, Hile, etc. Experiencing the life of rural Nepal and being a part of it is an incredible cultural journey. At Ghandruk, the Old Gurung Museum exhibits different kitchen wares, jewelry, hand tools, etc. Ghorepani is an alluring spot with little shops offering local items. To get the great heavenliness of dawn over the Himalayas, the trek requires you to make an early morning move along the uphill trail to the viewpoint of Poon Hill at 3,200m. Annapurna sunrise view trek

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer from the airport to your hotel

On your arrival in Kathmandu, we will meet you at the airport and transfer you to a hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Kathmandu - Pokhara (900 m)

Take a tourist bus to Pokhara (826m), which normally takes about 6 hours. Spend the night in a deluxe hotel in the Lakeside area.

Day 03: Pokhara - Nayapul (beginning of the trek) - Tikhedhunga (1,577 m)

Drive to Nayapul (1,050 m) by car. After lunch and a short recess, trek to Tikhedhunga (1,577 m) and spend the night in a local teahouse.

Day 04: Tikhedhunga - Ghorepani (2,875 m) 

Trek to Ghorepani (2875 m), which takes about 5-6 hours, and stay overnight at a local teahouse. On your way lies Ulleri village where friendly Pun people live a very simple life. Enjoyable views of mountains will help you ease your walk.

Day 05: Ghorepani - Poonhill (3,210 m) - Tadapani (2,600 m) 

Wake up very early in the morning and hike up to Poonhill (3,210 m), which takes roughly 1 hour. If the weather is fine, you can enjoy an outstanding view of the sunrise over the Annapurna Himalayan range. Around twenty different mountain peaks (including Dhaulagiri) are also visible from there – no wonder the place is regarded as one of the best viewpoints. After enjoying the sunrise, you will descend back to Ghorepani (approximately 1 hour) and have breakfast. After a short recess, resume trekking for about 5 hours to reach Tadapani (2,600 m). You will be spending yet another night in a local teahouse.

Day 06: Tadapani - Ghandruk (1,950 m)

Trek for about 3 hours and arrive at Ghandruk (1,950 m) mainly through forests, probably the easiest segment of the entire trip. After lunch, you can explore the village, inhabited mainly by the Gurung community. You can also visit the local museum as well as a monastery. Spend the night in a local teahouse.

Day 07: Ghandruk - Pokhara

Trek down to Nayapul (1,050 m) in about 4 hours. It takes about 1 hour to drive to Pokhara. Explore the city in the afternoon, take a refreshing walk in the Lakeside area, and spend the night in your hotel room.

Day 08: Pokhara - Kathmandu 

Drive back to Kathmandu or if you wish, board a flight (approximately 45 minutes) by paying about USD 110 extra. In the evening, we will take you out for a farewell dinner at one of the renowned restaurants in Kathmandu offering authentic Nepalese dishes and a live cultural show. After dinner, we will drive you back to your hotel in Kathmandu.
