On your arrival day, you will be welcomed by our airport representative at the Tribhuvan International Airport. Shortly, you will head towards the hotel in a private tourist car/van. Spend the evening relaxing and exploring the bright streets of Thamel. Later, meet with other team members over a welcome dinner.

Have breakfast and get ready for a long drive to Syabrubesi. From the chaos of this city, drive towards the tranquility of the Langtang region. The ride offers beautiful views of hills and mountains like Ganesh Himal, Mt. Manaslu, and the Langtang range. Spend the night in Syabrubesi.

From Syabrubesi, the trail ascends towards Gatlang. On the way, you will be seeing superb views of the Ganesh Himal and Langtang range. The trail goes through lush forests and small settlement areas.

The trail drops down to Thangbuchet, where you will be taking a small break for lunch. Cross a thrilling hanging bridge and ascend towards Tatopani for the night stay. This village offers natural hot springs in exchange for a few bucks.

Have a delicious breakfast and begin trekking towards Nagathali. It is a hilltop that offers stunning views of the Himalayas. The trail steeply follows an uphill route that goes through dense forests. Spend the night spending time with locals.

Today, there will be mostly downhill walked to Briddim. Passing by Timure, you trek through beautiful forests of pine and rhododendron. You will be following a part of the old trade route to Tibet. The views along the way are fantastic. Briddim is another fine Tamang village, where you will get to know more about people from this community.

It is going to be a short trekking day today. From Briddim, you descend back to Syabrubesi. The trail crosses lush forests, small villages, and a few streams.

After having breakfast, drive back to Kathmandu. The drive will be long and offer beautiful scenery. Upon reaching Kathmandu, we will drop you at the hotel. The remaining day is free to enjoy as per your wish. Later in the evening, meet with the team members once again for the last time on farewell dinner.

    It depends on your trekking season. Usually, the lodge/teahouse owners give a clean blanket, but it might not be enough to keep you warm throughout the night. So, do consider buying or renting a sleeping bag in Thamel.

    Best time of the year to go on Tamang Heritage Trek

    March to April is the best time to go on Tamang Heritage Trek 9 Days. The warm climate and blooming forests make the trek incredible. Likewise, October to November is another best time of year to go on this trek. While trekking in autumn, you can see some of the biggest festivals of Nepali. Spring and autumn both offer stunning views of the Himalayan mountains. 

    Tamang Heritage Trek difficulty

    Tamang Heritage Trek is an easy trek in the Langtang region. The trail has got a gentle pace. There are many ascents and descents with a few steep and rugged sections that add adventure to the journey. Anyone with good health and physical fitness can go on this trek. 
     
    You do not need previous trekking experience for this trek. However, you have to mentally prepare yourself to survive without modern comforts and enjoy simple yet delicious food options.
     
    As there is no major rise in elevation, the risk of altitude sickness is quite low during the Tamang heritage short trek. Some of the things you can do to prevent altitude sickness are drinking plenty of water, eating a balanced diet, and getting enough sleep. Likewise, never drink alcohol and smoke during high-altitude journeys because it dehydrates your body and makes it prone to altitude sickness.

    Mode of transportation during the trek

    Syabrubesi is the starting and ending point of the Tamang heritage short trek. To reach and get out of there, you will ride in a private tourist vehicle. Likewise, there will be airport pick up and drop as per the itinerary in the package. 

    Electricity and Charging Facilities 

    Most of the households along the way depend on solar power. The chances are high that you might have to spend a few bucks to charge your electronic device. Carry a solar charger or spare batteries to stay on the safe side. While in Kathmandu, there is no shortage of electricity.

    Sim Card and WiFi

    To use the internet while trekking, you can a Nepali sim or use the WiFi service offered by some of the guesthouses. Either way, the connection may not be that stable because of remote areas and elevation. If you decide to get a Nepali sim, then let us know we will help you get one. Also, the guesthouse owners may ask you to pay little money for WiFi (not covered in the package cost).

    Luggage

    During the Tamang heritage trek 9 days, you will get a duffel bag to pack all of the clothing and other necessities. The duffel bags are carried by porters, whereas you will carry a day pack. Keep your electronic devices, cash, documents, water bottle, and essentials with you. Leave your extra clothing and other stuff in a lockable suitcase in the hotel's locker room for free of charge. 
     
    In a group of 8 people or more, there will be an assistant guide as well. Likewise, porters also join the group. We offer one porter for every two members of the group (porters carry around 20 Kg to 22 Kg, 10kg/11kg per person).

    Child policy

    Even though Tamang Heritage Trek is a relatively easy trek, trekkers under the age of 18 should be accompanied by an identified guardian. If you are an active underage trekker, then you may trek with a guide. To know more in detail about the policy of child trekking, get in touch with us anytime. 

    Tipping to crew members

    You can tip our crew members if you are happy with their service. The team leader/guide will help you with the tipping at the end of the trek. All the members of the team can tip USD 5 each to the tour guide, USD 2 each to the driver, and USD 100 each to the trek guide (divided between porters & guide). Tipping is a culture and highly appreciated. You can tip as much as you want. 

    Personal expenses

    During the trek, you will need extra cash to buy things like snacks and drinks out of offered meals. Likewise, you might also have to pay a few bucks for a hot shower or charge your device at some places. 
     
    Therefore, we highly recommend you budget around USD 12 to USD 15 for each day while trekking. There is no ATM on the trail, so withdraw enough cash in the city. Similarly, shopping is also not included in the Tamang Heritage Trek package cost. 

    Insurance, rescue, evacuation

    As you will be trekking in a remote area, the chances of getting proper medical help are quite low. So in the worst case, you have to get air evacuated to the nearby hospital. Having travel insurance while Tamang Heritage Trek will keep you safe in an emergency. Make sure to include medical bills and air evacuation in the travel insurance. Likewise, we also recommend you add flight cancellation and loss/theft of property.
