After your arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport, Kathmandu, our officer will pick you up from the airport and take you to the guest house. After reaching the guest house, there will be some orientation and preparation for trekking.

Today we will have an early wake-up and catch a domestic flight towards Lukla. During the flight to Lukla, we will witness majestic views of the great Himalayas and hills. After reaching Lukla we will have a pleasing walk up to Phakding. It will take about 3 hours to reach Phakding. We will stay overnight at Phakding.

Today we will be heading towards one of the beautiful towns of the Himalayan region. Early in the morning, we will start walking through Dudh Koshi River and crossing Hillary's suspension bridge. From that bridge, we will reach Chautara from where we closely peer the view of Everest. From that Chautara. We have to walk around 2 hours to reach Namche Bazaar. Namche Bazaar is a small and beautiful town where we can get every kind of facility like internet, shops, and markets. We stay overnight at Namche Bazaar.

Today we will have to acclimatize to the session at Namche Bazaar. It is very necessary to acclimatize our body and altitude whether we can continue our walk at high altitudes or not. Today we don’t only rest the whole day but for best acclimatization, we will hike up to Everest view hotel to witness the Khumbu peak and Mt. Everest as well. We stay overnight at Namche Bazaar.

From Namche Bazaar we will move ahead towards Tengboche. The trail is decently filled with forests of birch and colorful rhododendrons. We will also be able to witness the amazing view of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam during the trek. We will also get a chance to visit Tengboche Monastery during the trek, which is the largest monastery in this region. Overnight stay at Tengboche.

    The trail from Tengboche is somehow similar to Tengboche. We will move ahead through the rhododendron forest enjoying the views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. During the trek towards Dingboche, we will witness the sizzling view of the Himalayas and Pangboche Monastery. Imja valley is the main gateway to Dingboche, after crossing this valley we will reach Dingboche to spend overnight.

    This is another Acclimatization day in Dingboche, today you will explore Dingboche village climb up to Nagarkshang Hill and back to the Hotel, and overnight at Dingboche

    From Dingboche our next destination is Lobuche. Though the trail is a bit steep this trail is also the most important one. During the trek, we will experience the Khumbu Glacier. Similarly, we will witness some mountain ranges like Khumbutse, Lingtren, Pumori, and Mahalangur. From the Khumbu glacier, the trail is simple and easy to reach Lobuche. Overnight stay at Lobuche.

    And finally, today is our most important day of trekking. We will achieve our lifetime experience by climbing to the base camp of Everest. Though it may take about 3-4 hours of walking to reach base camp we will spend some hours there to explore it. After reaching base camp we will witness the majestic view of Everest very closely. Not only the highest peak we will witness the Khumbu glacier with icefall as well. And base camp is the main point to begin the Everest expedition as well. For overnight, we will hike to Gorakshep.

    Today before we fly back to Kathmandu, we will hike up to Kalapathar. Kalapathar is the point from which we can witness a 360-degree view of the highest peak- Mt. Everest. After that, we will return to Gorakshep and start our flight. From helicopter as well we will have stunning views of the Himalayan range including Mt. Everest. Our officer will take you to the guest house after your landing at the Airport.

    The highest point you touch during the Everest Base Camp Trek with helicopter return is Kala Patthar, which is at 5,644 meters above sea level.

    The starting point of the Everest Base Camp Heli Trek is Lukla (2,860 m), and the ending point is Kala Patthar (6,44 m). From Kala Patthar, we fly back to Kathmandu in a helicopter.
     

    The minimum walking hours of the EBC Heli trek is 5 to 6 hours. Some days can touch 7 hours too. 

    You need to get Khumbu Rural Municipality Permit and Sagarmatha National Permit for this trek. Both permit fees are included in our package cost and obtained in advance on your behalf.

    The chances of altitude sickness on this trek are low because of our precisely designed itinerary. We have ample rest days during the trek, and our trek guide also takes care of all the group members. If by chance, you get symptoms of altitude sickness, we'll give your first aid and take action as the symptoms progress. 

    The luggage limit for Lukla flight and helicopter ride is 10 kgs per pax for a duffel bag and 5 kgs daypack per pax.

    There is no age limit for the Everest Base Camp trek with helicopter return. Anyone can join this venture unless in good health and can endure the remoteness of the region.

    You can withdraw cash in Kathmandu in one of the numerous ATMs around the city. In Namche Bazaar, there is the last ATM. You'll not find any ATMs above this place, so withdraw money here if you are not carrying enough surplus cash with you.

    Sim Card and WiFi

    During the Everest Base Camp trek with helicopter return, you can use the internet almost everywhere. It may not be reliable and stable all the time, but you'll get it from time to time. The wifi service costs extra money and is not covered by the package cost, so carry spare money. We advise not to get obsessed with the internet and sharing the journey all the time rather enjoy and live in the moment. 

    Luggage

    A duffel bag and day pack is used during the trek. We request our guests to pack as light as possible and leave all unnecessary stuff in Kathmandu. You can store your additional luggage in the hotel's locker room. Pack all heavy clothing and necessities in the duffel bag, whereas your electronics, money, snacks, etc in the day pack. Duffel bag weight limit is 10 kgs for each trekker and day pack weight limit is 5 kgs per trekker.

For backup, you can get one that covers medical bills and other stuff like baggage loss, flight cancelation, etc. Nepal issues minimal to no travel insurance to foreign travelers, so we request you to take out travel insurance in your home country and send the details of the insurance to us.

    Everest Base Camp Trek return by Helicopter

    I contacted Dipak the organizer 12 days before my start date for a custom trip (one-way Kathmandu-EBC trek in a short 6 days, return by helicopter day 7, 1 buffer day) and everything happened and went smoothly. Pre-trip, I can say that Dipak's response time is super quick (once you meet him, you'll understand and definitely forgive the fact that he's always on his phone), that his English is good, and that he has enough mountain experience to be able to make a good custom plan (he was a porter then guide then organizer). He's even a man of his word: he made the mistake of forgetting to tell me about the credit card fee in his quote and spontaneously waived that fee for me.

    Once in Kathmandu, the company does a very good job at hospitality. My trekking guide came to meet me at the airport, not just a driver. He later came to chat with me in Kathmandu after the trek was over. For my later city day tours, my city guide came to meet me the day before. Finally, I met with Dipak several times during my stay in Kathmandu and he paid for several meals to chat and make sure that my trip was going as well as possible.

    Dipak always says to be flexible in the schedule. It turns out he is very well connected with the helicopter companies flying to Lukla and Kala Patthar (heli rides are his main business) and this proved to be a real advantage to me as a trekker. First, he managed to fly me from Kathmandu to Lukla in the afternoon when there were no more regularly scheduled flights so that I could start my trek a day earlier. Then he managed to fit me in an early morning return flight from Kala Patthar, avoiding the crowds and potential bad weather. In the end, my 1 buffer day became 2.5 days to enjoy Kathmandu thanks to Dipak's efforts.

    My guide Dilli was super knowledgeable, approachable, helpful, and flexible. He was definitely on my side trying to make my trek as good as possible (and he was definitely not trying to drain money out of me like I've had other guides do). No hiccup in the organization and Dilli's flexibility allowed me to get good weather pictures from Kala Patthar compared to if we had gone with the original itinerary. We didn't have the same photo tastes but that's my personal opinion.

    The day tours in Kathmandu after my trek went well too and were a nice bonus to my stay in Nepal. My guide was in no way pressuring me into time or purchases. A few viewpoints were chosen on rooftops of shops/restaurants that probably had some kickback but I felt that that was reasonable.

    Finally, the EBC trek is of course worth it for the views. I've done many international treks (Machu Picchu, Kilimanjaro, Torres del Paine), and the views from Kala Patthar and this trek in general are my favorite. Squeezing it in 6 days is only for people with prior experience of favorable quick acclimatization and of averaging 1000+m/3000+feet of elevation gain per day including pm acclimatization hikes. Otherwise do the regular 8-9 days ascent.

    Amazing Everest base camp trek
