About Panchase Trek

Panchase is a region near Pokhara city. A trek to Panchase is an opportunity to relax and explore the nature and culture in the laps of the Himalayas. A trek and stay in Panchase take a little more than a week. It is a short and easy trek recommended for you if you are looking for a quick view of the Annapurna region.

Your trek begins as you arrive at Kathmandu International Airport and on the following day take a scenic drive from the capital to the beautiful Laketown of Pokhara. In Pokhara first, you take a quick hike to the top of Sarangkot, popular for extraordinary sunrise views over shining mountains. Prominent mountains visible from Sarangkot are Mt. Annapurna, Mt. Fishtail, Mt. Dhaulagiri, and Mt. Nilgiri among others. From Sarangkot your trek goes towards Bhadaure and on to Panchase Bhanjyang. ‘Bhanjyang’ is the Nepali name for a mountainous (or a hilly) pass. The charm of this region is what keeps bringing people back and back again. You then move on to Thulakhet before you return to Pokhara.

The trail is lined with beautiful forests with spectacular flora & fauna and amazing views of mountains of the Himalayan range. You will also see the culture of the Gurungs and Magars in this trek. Today is a great day for nature-lovers, as the path winds amongst diverse trees and plants and you can hear the birds above – you may even catch a glimpse of a monkey! Emerging from the trees briefly at Thulchour, you then continue under the cover of the forest until the path joins a dirt road, from which you can see panoramic views of the mountains. These include the Annapurnas, Lamjung, Gangapurna and Machhapuchhare (Fishtail) as well as three peaks over 8,000m: Dhaulagiri, Annapurna I and Manalsu, in the distance.
