Adventure White Mountain Will receive you at international airport of Nepal, Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer you to hotel. Today you can enjoy Thamel as it is one of the cream touring sites of Kathmandu. Tourists believe that Nepal visit is incomplete without visiting Thamel. You will spend night in a hotel.

     The real fun begins from today as you get chance to witness at least four UNESCO listed World Heritage Sites of Kathmandu. You visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath Temple, Swoyambhunath Stupa and Bouddhanath Stupa. Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, is regarded as Historic City and Kathmandu Durbar Square is a lively example that speaks about the history of this nation. The site covers five acres of land. Hanuman Dhoka, Swoyambhunath, Pashupatinatha and Bouddhanath are the main place of our visit today. We will spend night in a hotel.

       After having a breakfast we leave Kathmandu for Pokhara- City of lakes. We either go in a private vehicle or a tourist bus. It takes around six to seven hours to reach Pokhara. The journey in between is so marvelous. You can view Trishuli River, cable car and various waterfalls on the way. Right before entering Pokhara the breathtaking view of Machhpuchhre (Fishtail) mountain will leave you speechless. You arrive at Pokhara by noon. The preliminary point of our Jomsom Trekking is Nayapul which is an hour drive from Pokhara. Short walk along the bank of Modi Khola will lead us to Birethanti where various tea shops and tea houses are found. Again moving through the bank of Bhurungdi Khola we come to Hille and climbing a short distance will take us to Tikhedhunga. Here we will be spending night.

         Moving across the stone paved way we reach at Ulleri. The stone steps here is really stamina challenging as there are more than 3000 stone steps. To make your journey worthy we will walk to Ghorepani from Ulleri. Oak forests, soft breeze and spectacular view of southern faced Annapurna and Himchuli will leave strong footmarks on your memories to cherish throughout your life. Ghorepani is an important spot for local traders. It has established itself as a crossways for tourists. Overnight in Ghorepani.

          Now the important day has finally arrived. Today is a day to experience a rare beauty of nature. We get up early in the morning and head towards Poon Hill. Poon hill is a popular hill station. It is even a perfect destination to seize the unbarred beauty of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. The rays of sun beautifully strike on the surface of these mountains will leave everyone stunned. After spending some time here we get back to Ghorepani for breakfast. Ghorepani Poon Hill is one of the best trekking destinations in terms of Nepal. Hundreds and thousands of people come to visit every year. Tatopani which means Hot Spring in English is the last destination for today where we will stay overnight. The trail to Tatopani is descending. Crossing Chitre we arrive Shikha. It further descends to Ghara. Crossing suspension bridge over Ghara Khola we head towards Kali Gandaki River and finally arrive at Tatopani. You can take dip in the hot springs here.

             The route is thrilling today as we will be passing through Kali Gandaki Gorge. You witness world’s deepest gorge of the world here at Dana. A couple of hours of walk will lead us to Rupsse Chhahara. It is a beautiful waterfall. We arrive at Kopchepani and after crossing suspension bridge we arrive at Ghasa. The tail now is ascending till we reach Lete. Kalopani is at an hour walk distance from here. On the way to Kalopani from Lete you get mesmerizing view of Nilgiri peak. Overnight in Kalopani.

               After crossing few rivers we reach Larjung followed by Khobang. Further walk leads us to a Thakali village called Tukuche. The village inhabits Thakali people. It is an ascending walk from Tukuche. Before arriving Marpha we cross Tibetan Refugee Camp and Horticulture Research Centre. Marpha is also a Thakali village where we put off at night.

                 It is a wonderful walk today as we enter Jomsom valley today. There are lots of hotels, teahouses in Jomsom. It is a busy place from commercial point of view. We move towards Eklai Bhatti walking along river. Finally, we arrive at Kagbeni where we will stay overnight. 

                   The trail to Muktinath from Kagbeni is truly inspiring. We head towards Jhong Khola Valley. We catch connecting route that leads us to Muktinath. Muktinath is popular shrine here. More than 100,000 pilgrims having faith on both religions—Hindu and Buddhist—visit here. It is a common shrine of Hindu and Buddhist. The temple enshrines Lord Vishnu. In the campus premises of Muktinath there is a temple of Jwala Mai which means Goddess of Flame and it is worshipped as Female Energy. The word Mukti means salvation and Nath refers to Lord. It is believed that the glimpse of temple will liberate pilgrims from the chain of birth and death.

                     Today after breakfast we get back to Jomsom following the same route that we followed earlier. It is descending trail. We spend night at a hotel in Jomsom.

                       Early in the morning after breakfast we catch flight to Pokhara. It is a flight on around 20 minute. You will enjoy the scenic beauty of mountains from the flight. In Pokhara you will have ample of time to enjoy the city. You can visit Gupteswor Cave, Mahendra Cave, Davi’s Fall and enjoy boating in Phewa Lake. We will put off at a hotel in Pokhara. 

                         Aftre breakfast we retrace path to Kathmandu following the same highway which we followed earlier—Prithvi Highway. It is a scenic ride of around six hours. You will get some time to stroll in the streets of Thamel. Adventure White Mountain will offer you dinner tonight. You will spend night at a hotel in Kathmandu.

                           Here ends your Jomsom Trekking today. A representative of Adventure White Mountain will drop you to Airport three hours before scheduled flight to your onward destination. See you again!!

                            You will stay overnight in teahouses during the Jomsom Muktinath Trek. The room usually is shared between two trekkers and is small in size. The washroom can be private or common as per the place. 

                            The meals are offered as per the menu of the teahouses. You will mostly get Nepali and Indian dishes with a few Continental and Tibetan options. There will be three meals a day during the Jomsom Muktinath Trekking.

                            Yes, Jomsom Muktinath Trek is safe. You have to be careful while walking because the trail gets steep and rugged in many parts. If you are trekking alone, then be attentive on the trail. Always walk on the hillside while passing by mules and yaks. 

                            Yes, you can do the Jomsom Muktinath Trek alone. However, trekking alone in the Himalayas is not advised, especially if you are a beginner trekker. If you do not wish to trek in a group, then opt for our private Jomsom Muktinath Trek package. You will be trekking only with a guide and a porter.

                            You will need Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) permit and TIMS Card to go on Jomsom Muktinath Trekking. You can obtain these permits in Kathmandu or Pokhara. If you are trekking with a local travel agency, then they will get the permits on behalf of you in advance.

                            Muktinath temple is situated at 3,800 meters, 24 km northeast of Jomsom at the foot of Thorong La Pass.

                            No, you do not have to get a restricted area permit for Jomsom Muktinath Trek 12 Days because the trail explores the lower part of Mustang, which is not part of the restricted area in Nepal.

                            Muktinath temple is the second biggest and significant temple in Nepal. It is a pilgrimage site visited by Hindus and Buddhists. As per the local's beliefs, you can get rid of your past sins if you take a bath in the 108 tap water located inside the temple premises. Likewise, many people visit this temple to get a blessing from the deity and get their wishes fulfilled. 

                            The highest altitude you will reach during the Jomsom Muktinath Trek is the Muktinath temple, situated at 3,710 meters.

                            Yes, you can easily get drinking water throughout the trek. We recommend carrying a reusable water bottle and refilling it at water stations along the trail. Mineral water bottles will cost you a lot of money and are also not good for the environment.

                            If the flight gets delayed or canceled, then we will arrange a jeep on the same day to travel back to Pokhara. We will make the decision as per your best interest.

                            Natural hot springs in Tatopani are not swimming pools. You cannot swim in it but sit and relax. A swimming costume will make it comfortable for you to enjoy hot springs, so carry a pair.

                            Best time of the year to go on Jomsom Muktinath Trek

                            The best time of the year to go on Jomsom Muktinath Trek is from spring (March to April) and autumn (October to November). There will be no obstacles like bad weather or unclear views during these two seasons. The temperature ranges between 5 degrees Celsius to 18 degrees Celsius. 

                            Monsoon/summer (May to September) and winter (December to February) are the off-season to trek in the Himalayas. The trail is not safe, and the weather is unstable, which makes the trek very tough and stressful. You may trek in the early days of winter with proper preparation and guidance. However, as the region starts to get heavy snowfall, the route gets blocked, and the risk of avalanche increases. 

                            Jomsom Muktinath Trek difficulty

                            Jomsom Muktinath Trek is a moderate trek with lots of ascents and descents. On a daily basis, 5 to 7 hours of the walk is needed through steep and rugged paths. With every new village, the altitude will increase, which also increases the chances of acute mountain sickness (altitude sickness).

                            Anyone can do Jomsom Muktinath Trekking if they are physically fit. You do not need previous trekking experience for this trek.

                            • You should not ascend more than 500 meters a day
                            • Drink at least 2 liters of water while trekking daily
                            • Avoid smoking or any alcoholic drinks
                            • If you see any of the above symptoms, inform your guide and rest
                            • Drop down to lower altitude to spend the night
                            • Do not push yourself and take your time 

                            Mode of transportation during the trek

                            During the Jomsom Muktinath Trek 13 days, you will be using private vehicles to move from one place to another as per the Jomsom Muktinath Trek itinerary. We offer airport pick up and drop service.

                            Likewise, to reach the starting point of the trek, you will drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara to Nayapul in a private car. Similarly, at the end of the trek, a short flight from Jomsom will take you to Pokhara, and you will drive back to Kathmandu. 

                            Electricity and Charging Facilities 

                            Carry an extra battery or a solar charger to keep your devices working during the trek. Trekkers usually pay a few extra bucks to use charging stations in the teahouses. At some places, you may get to use it for free. It depends on the owner of the teahouses. 

                            Sim Card and WiFi

                            You can buy a Nepali SIM card and data at a reasonable price around Thamel. If you want, we can help you with it. The internet connection, whether it is WiFi or cellular data will not be stable all the time. The connection can get slow every now and then. 

                            And as you touch high altitude, you will be left without any internet connections. The tea houses may charge you a few extra bucks for the WiFi service. Make sure to carry additional cash to use these services as it is not covered in the package cost. 

                            Luggage

                            For luggage, we will use a duffel during the trek. Every trekker gets a weight limit of 10 kgs, which is carried by porters. You will carry a day pack for the essentials like cash, snacks, documents, electronic devices, etc. If you are left with additional clothing or a suitcase, then you can store it in the locker room of the hotel for free of cost while trekking.

                            Child policy

                            Jomsom Muktinath trek is a high altitude trek with risks like altitude sickness, cold, and rugged route. For minors or kids, we have a different provision that lets their trek with a verified guardian. The trekker has to be healthy and physically fit to be able to walk long hours.                             Tipping to crew members

                            Tipping is common and not included in the Jomsom Muktinath Trek cost. You can tip the guide and porter as per your wish. It's not mandatory but highly advised and appreciated. For example, every member of the group can tip USD 5 to drive, USD 10 to tour guide, and USD 150 to trek guide (shared with porters).

                            Personal expenses 

                            Things like extra meals, beverages, snacks, souvenirs, and other services along the trek (hot shower, WiFi, etc), are not included in the Jomsom Muktinath Trek package cost. Likewise, travel insurance, tips, and international flights are also not included in the package cost. If you decide to extend or spend the extra night during the trek, then all the additional costs must be covered by yourself.

                            Insurance, Rescue, Evacuation

                            It's rare we see travel insurance come into effect during the trek. However, trekking with well-covered travel insurance that includes emergency air evacuation up to 6,000 meters and medical bills will let you travel freely. At the same time, if any emergency situation occurs, then it will be easier for us to provide you with quick medical assistance.
