Adventure White Mountain Will receive you at international airport of Nepal, Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer you to hotel. Today you can enjoy Thamel as it is one of the cream touring sites of Kathmandu. Tourists believe that Nepal visit is incomplete without visiting Thamel. You will spend night in a hotel.

 The real fun begins from today as you get chance to witness at least four UNESCO listed World Heritage Sites of Kathmandu. You visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath Temple, Swoyambhunath Stupa and Bouddhanath Stupa. Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, is regarded as Historic City and Kathmandu Durbar Square is a lively example that speaks about the history of this nation. The site covers five acres of land. Hanuman Dhoka, Swoyambhunath, Pashupatinatha and Bouddhanath are the main place of our visit today. We will spend night in a hotel.

 After having a breakfast we leave Kathmandu for Pokhara- City of lakes. We either go in a private vehicle or a tourist bus. It takes around six to seven hours to reach Pokhara. The journey in between is so marvelous. You can view Trishuli River, cable car and various waterfalls on the way. Right before entering Pokhara the breathtaking view of Machhpuchhre (Fishtail) mountain will leave you speechless. You arrive at Pokhara by noon. You will get time to walk around lakeside and can even enjoy boating on Phewa Lake. The majestic view of Fishtail Mountain from Pokhara is fascinating for every trekkers/tourists.  After breakfast we drive to Nayapul. It is around one and half hour drive from Pokhara and starting point of Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek. Walking through Modi Khola bank we arrive at Birethanti. We further move ahead towards Hille walking along Bhurungdi Khola. A short climb further will lead us to Tikhedhunga. Here we will be spending night.

 Moving across the stone paved way we reach at Ulleri. The stone steps here is really stamina challenging as there are more than 3000 stone steps. To make your journey worthy we will walk to Ghorepani from Ulleri.  Now the important day has finally arrived. Today is a day to experience a rare beauty of nature. We get up early in the morning and head towards Poon Hill. Poon hill is a popular hill station. It is even a perfect destination to seize the unbarred beauty of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. The rays of sun beautifully strike on the surface of these mountains will leave everyone stunned. After spending some time here we get back to Ghorepani for breakfast. Ghorepani Poon Hill is one of the best trekking destinations in terms of Nepal. Hundreds and thousands of people come to visit every year. Tadapani is our final destination for today and we will walk towards there after breakfast. We cross forest and few lose settlements to arrive Tadapani where we will spend night.

 Ghandruk inhabits Gurung people and is popular for Gurung culture. They are regarded as brave people who are mostly engaged in defense service. There is a Gurung Museum here and it portrays many information about this community. Passing through oak and rhododendron forest we arrive at Ghandruk where we will put off at night. You get view of Lamjung Himal and Manaslu from here.

 After breakfast we will be walking towards Nayapul. From Nayapul we hire jeep to arrive Pokhara. In Pokhara we will get some time to enjoy evening walk in lakeside. Boating is another option. We will stay overnight in a hotel.

Ghorepani Poon Hill trek is situated in the Annapurna Conservation Area of the North Central Part of Nepal.

During the trek towards Ghorepani Poon Hill, you will be staying at a Local Tea house and hotels. Available facilities will be private rooms with twin beds and private lockers. Mattress with pillows and blanket along with a small tea table is available but the bathroom will be shareable. If you want to use a hot shower you need to pay extra.

Ghorepani Poon Hill trek is a relatively easy trek in the Annapurna region of Nepal. Any person who is physically and mentally fit can easily make it to their destination. You need to walk around 6 to 7 hours a day.

Ghorepani Poon Hill trek is not high altitude trek. Basically, if people climb above the elevation of 3500 can get AMS but the highest point of this trek is Ghorepani 2840m so you won’t get caught by sickness.

If you get sick while trekking to Ghorepani Poon Hill then you can share it with the trekking guide or hotel owner. If you share your problem and if it is a serious one then a trekking guide can manage an emergency helicopter evacuation for you.

Yes, you will get Wifi services and a hot shower in Tea houses but you may pay a bit extra for it.

Ghorepani Poon Hill trekking is best during the spring season (March to May). This trek route leads through beautiful rhododendron forests and during spring these forests are a treat to watch for.

The climate is up and down as the season changes. During winter (December to February) Temperature remains around 3 to 12 degrees Celsius. Likewise in Spring Temperature remains around 9 to 19 degrees Celsius. During Monsoon you may find some rain with a temperature of 10 to 21 degrees Celsius. And in autumn the temperature remains around 6 to 17 degrees Celsius.

A short trek like Ghorepani Poon Hill can be done anytime during the year but it would be more worthy when there isn’t any rainfall or snow. 
So, the best possible time to explore the Ghorepani Poon Hill trek is from March to May and September to November. The weather is mostly clear in these months so you can enjoy the splendid views of scenic beauty. Weather remains quite stable and temperature hoover around 10 to 24 degrees Celsius during these months. 

Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek difficulty

Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is not that extreme and challenging but moderate because of its steep terrain, altitude, and basic facilities. This trekking trail leads through an easy route by experiencing awe-inspiring mountain terrain, colorful rhododendron forests, waterfalls, and beautiful Gurung villages. So, Ghorepani Poon Hill trekking is perhaps one of the easiest trekking packages you can offer for yourself to explore Himalayan beauty. Though you need to walk around 7 hours in very steep terrain in a day. En route, you may face a number of uphill sections. For common people walking around 7 hours a day at an altitude of 3210 m is not that much easy. So some of the difficulties you may face during the trek are

  • You need to be hydrated properly each trekking day.
  • Hard beverages need to be avoided. 
  • Do not rush yourself up while hiking, go through the planned itinerary. 
  • Take some medical kits for the symptoms of mountain illness. 
  • Facilities in Tea houses at Poon Hill are basic. 
  • During peak Trekking season you can book tickets in advance and even the ticket price is can get high. 

Mode of Transportation during the trek

Well, first of all, we have facilities for airport pick up and drop to make your trip more convenient. For this trek, from Kathmandu to Pokhara you will drive in a private tourist bus/car/van. But if you want to go by plane then you can reach Pokhara within 45 minutes as well. Then again you will return back to Kathmandu by private car/van or tourist bus. 

Electricity and Charging Facilities 

Well, during this trek you need not be worried about your mobile or camera batteries. You will easily get electricity and charging facilities in accommodation. Though you need to carry some extra battery if you have for the backup in case the electricity goes off for some reason. 

Sim Cards and WiFi

As you arrive at the airport you can buy Nepali 4G sim cards and Data Packages to stay connected with your loved ones. The data connection in city areas is good but as you will take off for the trek at a higher altitude you may face a problem in the network. Likewise, in city Hotels, you may get free WiFi but you may need to pay extra bucks for WiFi during the trek at Tea houses/hotels. 

Luggage

The main luggage during the trek will be duffel bags which will be carried by porters. Every two members of the group will have one porter. The porter carries 10 to 11 kgs of load for each person. You will carry your bag packs in which your camera, batteries, charger, snacks, and other miscellaneous stuff will be carried. You can keep some extra clothes and other stuff in the locker room of the Hotel free of cost. 

Child Policy

Well, if your age is under 18 then to trek up to Ghorepani Poon Hill you need to be accompanied by your own guardian/identified adult. Similarly, you need to be physically ready and active if you are under 18 years old. In order to get information about child policy, you feel free to get in touch with our representatives. 

Tipping to Crew Members

Well, it’s been culture to give tips to the crew member at the very end of the trip. Though is it up to you if you want to give tips to crew members we do suggest tipping if you like the services during the trek. Every member of the group can tip USD 5 each to the tour guide, USD 2 to the driver, and USD 100 each to the trek guide (divided between guide and porter).

Personal Expenses

Personal Expenses are totally excluded from the cost of the packages. Shopping, extra stay at hotel, snacks, beverages, etc. are not included in the package cost. Similarly, you might spend hot showers during the trail, charging devices, which are not included in the Ghorepani Poon Hill trek package cost. Insurance, Rescue, Evacuation 

Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek isn't that high altitude remote area but people with less physical activity may find it a bit difficult to acclimatize. There is no big hospital during the trial so, you need to aware of that. In case of emergency, the best possible way to get yourself medicated is by air evacuation (Helicopter Charter) which may cost a huge amount of money if you haven’t done your insurance. So, we highly suggest you get travel insurance first which embraces air evacuation, medical bills, flight cancellation, and lost/theft personal properties.
