About Bumdra Trek and Hike

Bumdra trek, a famous trekking site which offers the breathtaking natural beauty of culture and hike.  What makes more exciting about this moderate trek is 2 days of the easy trek and 1 luxurious night camping. The eye-catching views from Bumdra campsite make the visitors feels like they are out of the world. Tiger’s Nest monastery, a small monastery hung far up on a cliff overlooking a spectacular valley, is the conclusion of this trek. Similarly, the spectacular view of the Paro and Thimpu which is filled with traditional arts, Cheri Monastery, and memorial Chortens makes trekkers more exciting and enjoyable. Likewise, thehike to the panoramic Lungchusey viewpoint from Dochu-la pass.

 After the formalities and meeting with the guide, the trek starts from national museum to Paro Dzong.

    From Paro – Bumdra, a 7 km of distance, loading all the luggage we start the hike experiencing the great views of mountain and Paro valley. After reaching the fixed luxurious camp below Bumdra monastery, we may also continue to 4000 meters high peak for better panoramic views. Camping in fixed tents with beds, carpets and all facilities in 3800 meters.

      From the narrow side path of the forest, we are heading towards the Tiger’s Nest, a holy place in Bhutan which was built in the 17th century. Before we return back to the hotel we still spend the time to visit the ruins of Drukyel Dzong, one of the oldest temple in Bhutan.

        Morning drive to Thimpu, viewing the old chained bridge and the gigantic statue of Buddha overlooking the valley and walk to striking city viewpoint. And in the afternoon visit to some traditional schools, drive to the north of Thimpu valley and hike to monasteries and an evening visiting the famous castle, Changankha Lhakhang.

          Through the Dochu- La pass, a famous place of 108 stupas and Royal Chapel, 4-5 hours hike to Panoramic Lungchusey viewpoint. Similarly, visit Memorial Chorten and main post office to see the postal museum. Rest in leisure and another program on request.

            We return back to Paro for the departure.
