Trekking through the Himalayan stripes along many tea houses on the trail is Manaslu Circuit trek for you. This majestic less crowded trek covers a distance of about 180 km (111miles) around the Manaslu region. Trekking in the Manaslu region has become the substitution for the Annapurna Circuit Trek in the modern era. The distance coverage and difficulty level for the Manaslu Circuit trek is moderate.

Trekking in the Manaslu region offers a wide range of flora and fauna, untouched places of Nepal, and adventurous life bringing all sorts of difficulties at a wholesome. The thrilling and stunning landscapes of Mt.Ganesh Himal, Mt.Himalchuli, and Mt.Manaslu including different mountain ranges make the trek more interesting. The small villages of the Manaslu region, monasteries, and Manaslu conservation areas are the major attractions of the trek. The trek can be possible throughout the year. However, it is found that October to November is the favorable time for the Manaslu Circuit trek. The moderate climatic condition and temperature make the trek more chilling and enthusiastic in these months. The trekking route was seriously affected by the earthquake in 2015. But now the route is well-managed with all infrastructures available

Manaslu Circuit trekking route

The Manaslu Circuit trekking route is adventurous including sloppy hills, rocky lands, and forest areas. It borders the Annapurna Conservation Area to the west and the Tibetan plateau to the north and east. The route goes along the Larkya La Pass which is very adventurous and dangerous to cross and is compared with Thorung la Pass.
Manaslu Circuit Trek Distance Following is the overall distance for an all-around trek to the Manaslu region:

Distance from Kathmandu to SotiKhola

Travel Distance: 141.3 km (88 miles)
Driving Time: 8-10 hours
It takes 6-7 hours to drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (in case you don’t face Traffic Jam) and an hour to drive to the village of SotiKhola. Langtang Himal, Ganesh Himal, Mt. Manaslu, forest areas, small towns, and lush hillsides on the way is lovely. You will arrive at SotiKhola which lies in the Budi Gandaki valley where we stay overnight.

Distance from SotiKhola to MachhaKhola

Trekking distance: 14 km (9 miles)
Trekking time: 6-7 hours
Early in the morning, you will trek through the hills, rivers, and waterfalls. As soon as you climb onto a ridge above the Budi Gandaki River, you will reach Khursani from where you shall descend to the Gurung valley of Labubesi.
Further, you will climb the rocky hill and cross another suspension bridge to reach the village of MachhaKhola.

Distance from MachhaKhola to Jagat

Trekking distance: 22km (13.7 miles)
Trekking time: 6-7 hours
The trail is narrow with some ascending and descending. After crossing TharoKhola, you will reach KharloBesi. Ongoing forward, you will reach Tatopani. Tatopani is a beautiful place for a break. You will cross two suspension bridges which will head you towards ThadoBaryang.
Finally, you will reach Jagat which is an entry point of the Manaslu Conservation Area.

Distance from Jagat to Deng

Trekking distance: 19.9 km (12.3 miles)
Trekking time: 6-7 hours
Today, you will have to cross the dense forest of the Manaslu region. The trek begins by climbing over a rocky ridge to Salleri. You will reach a large Gurung village in Philip.
After crossing BudhiGandaki Bridge, you will trek towards the western and eastern banks. Finally, you will pass through Deng Khola reaching Deng where we stay the night.

Distance from Deng to Namrung

Trekking distance: 19.5 km (12.1 miles)
Trekking time: 6-7 hours
Today’s trek is exciting, adventurous, and risky because you will have to encounter a number of high hills and forest areas on the trail. Firstly, you will cross the Budi Gandaki river heading west up the valley through lush forest. You will reach the beautiful village of Prok. You will further walk away from the dense forest of the Manaslu Conservation Area. After an hour from Prok, you will reach Namrung.

Distance from Namrung to Samagaon

Trekking distance: 17.7 km (10.9 miles)
Trekking time: 6-7 hours
You will head towards Lihi passing through the dense forest of the Manaslu region. On walking forward, you will reach Sama village where you can have a close view of Mt. Manaslu. After a few hours of walking from Sama village, you will reach Samagaon.

Distance from Samagaon to Samdo

Trekking distance: 16.4 km (10.1 miles)
Trekking time: 4 hours
You will trek for a shorter distance through the Mani walls, Juniper, and birch forest. Then, you shall drop down and cross the Budi Gandaki on a wooden bridge. You will climb hills and walk through steep roads. Finally, you will reach Samdo.

Distance from Samdo to Dharamsala

Trekking Distance: 12lm (8 miles)
Trekking time: 4-5 hours
Here comes the difficult day. It’s difficult because you will have to witness the Larkya Glacier. Firstly, you will pass by Larke Bazaar and cross the Wooden Bridge. Further, you will head along the valley of the SalkoKhola and ascend up to the Dharamsala. The trekking is short. Therefore, you will get enough time to rest at Dharamsala.

Distance from Dharamsala to Bimthang via Larkya La pass

Trekking distance: 24.7 km (15.3 miles)
Trekking time: 7-9 hours
Today you will feel like it’s the longest day of your life because the trekking distance is too long enough to make you feel lazy. But the rivers, bridges, and views of surroundings make your trek exciting. 
You will walk through the village of Glacier Lake. After a short climb, you will reach a small valley on the north side of the Larkya Glacier where you can observe the Larkya peak. After crossing the glacier, you will witness chilling views of HimlungHimal, Cheo Himal, and the massive Annapurna II.

Distance from Bimthang to Tilije

Trekking distance: 16km (10 miles)
Trekking time: 5-6 hours
You can enjoy stunning views of Mt. Manaslu and other mountain ranges when you move towards a nearby ridge from Bimthang.
Further, you descend down to the Valley of Dudh Koshi River. After a short distance walk, you will reach Gho and finally Tilije.

Distance from Tilije to Tal

Trekking distance: 11.3 km (7 miles)
Trekking time 5-6 hours
The trail starts after crossing a small ridge of Tilije. You will cross the bridge over the Dudh Koshi River. Further, by climbing the Mani walls and stupa-shaped arch, you will reach the village of Thanje.
Finally, you will cross the bridge over the MarsyangdiKhola and reach Tal.

Distance from Tal to Syange

Trekking distance: 12.9 km (8 miles)
Trekking time: 6-7 hours
Today, you will descend down to the village of Chyanje. Again, it’s time to cross the MarsyangdiKhola via a suspension bridge. Passing through a pine forest, you will reach the village of Syange where you will stay the night.

Distance from Syange to Kathmandu

Trekking distance: 201 km (125 miles)
Driving time: 3-5 hours
This is the last day of the trek. You will walk through the village of Syange and take a drive to Kathmandu via Besi Sahar. The drive offers wonderful views of hills and mountains.

The trek is popular for the Larkya La pass and the majestic landscapes of the mountains. The wide flora and fauna of the Manaslu region, Nepalese cultures, and rhododendron forest are the major attractions of the trek.
