If you are an extreme trekker then Annapurna Base Camp Trek is something that should not be missed. Annapurna sanctuary trekking site is very widespread among people throughout the world for its ethos and mountain biome. Annapurna lies in the northern part of Nepal. The tower of Annapurna blocks the monsoon so this part of the country faces the least amount of rainfall. This is why districts like Manang and Mustang are known as the desert area of Nepal.

Not only for its environmental purpose, this area, is also of great importance from the cultural perspective. The majority of Gurung people reside here. Sharing of different religions such as Hinduism and Buddhism can be seen here. They respect every culture and tradition in their own possible way. Annapurna Region is a sacred place for both people, Hindu and Buddhist. Hindu people have a strong belief that Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) mountain is a habitat of Lord Shiva. Annapurna sanctuary is an oval-shaped plateau which is located at an altitude of 4,000m from sea level. Most of the mountains in this sanctuary are above 7000m. Annapurna Sanctuary is guarded by Annapurna conservation sites, the initial conservation sites of Nepal.
