Useful Information

Best time of the year to go on Annapurna Base Camp Trek

You have to trek in the peak season to enjoy the trek without any issues. Weather in the Himalayas can get extremely unstable, especially in the off-season. Annapurna Base Camp trek best time is from March to April (spring) and October to November (autumn). In terms of weather and climate, it is the peak season to trek anywhere in the Himalayas.
With the best season also comes the crowd. You can see trekkers from all around the world on the trail. For some trekkers, this buzz can be fun and exciting, at the same time, nonsense for tranquility lovers. If you are trekking in the peak season, then we highly recommend you book accommodation in advance.
What we love about trekking in spring is the beautiful trail covered with rhododendrons and many other flowers. The climate is usually pleasant, and the views are fantastic. And same goes for autumn, instead of flowers, you may get to be part of the biggest Nepali festivals.

Annapurna Base Camp Trek difficulty

The route that Annapurna Base Camp Trek follows has lots of twists and turns. There are numerous ascents and descents along rocky tracks throughout the trek. The trail passes by dense forests and crosses several suspension and wooden bridges. Likewise, you will be walking on steep and rugged paths too in between the trek.
Besides the terrain, another major thing that makes the trek challenging for trekkers is the remoteness of the region. Adjusting to a simple lifestyle in the absence of modern comforts adds up to the difficulty level of the Annapurna Base Camp Trek for many trekkers.
The daily walk is around 5 to 7 hours. The difficulty level of the trek may differ from one per to another. The overall fitness, trekking experience, and determination of the trekker also determine the trek challenge.
A high altitude journey like this triggers acute mountain sickness or also known as altitude sickness. It happens if your body does not acclimatize with the elevation. So, it is essential to have adequate rest days in your itinerary.
With that being said, our Annapurna Base Camp Trek itinerary has a steady increase in the elevation that will allow you to adjust to the altitude as you ascend further.
