The trek to Ghale Gaun takes you through woods of rhododendron, customary houses along the towns and see a waterfall, common natural beauty, and also on the trek, see some tall mountains such as Mt. Machhapuchhare (6,693 m), Mt. Annapurna II (7,939 m), Mt. Annapurna (8,091 m) and Lamjung Himal range among others. This excursion gives you an immaculate experience of conventional Nepalese society with its warm, inviting and immersive hospitality - all in a village with clear views of Himalayas which will stay as one of your fondest recollections from Nepal.
The trek is among the most common trekking in Annapurna Circuit and Annapurna Base Camp region. The village of Ghale Gaun lies between those frequented trekking trails. It is a home of the Gurkha officers which is less swarmed and reflecting the society. They have their own social norms in all aspects of life. The people here extend out their hospitality and are eager to hear your stories, and tell you theirs
Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, our representative will meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel. In the hotel, you will be briefed about your activities during the trek.
Kathmandu valley is the historical and cultural center of Nepal and has been a popular destination for tourists. After breakfast you will visit some UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Later in the day you will relax at your own pace.
This day will mark the beginning of your trek. After breakfast you will be driven to Besi Sahar, 180 km northwest of Kathmandu. The drive takes around 6 to 8 hours on a tourist bus. From there, you will trek along the trail to Pam Khola. Later, you will move to the village of Denauti. This trail offers lots of scenic views of the Marshyangdi river, paddies and subtropical forests before arriving at Khudi, a Gurung village.
After breakfast you will walk along the banks of Khudi River passing waterfalls and several villages. From there, a four to five hours of walk will take you to Ghale Gaun. The first thing you will notice from here is the picturesque view of Mt. Annapurna and Mt. Manaslu. You can also have a spectacular sunrise and sunset views from here.
After breakfast you will hike around Ghale gaun. You will find that most of the houses are built in similar style of architecture with uniquely carved windows. You can also visit a Buddhist Gompa in the village. In the evening you can enjoy Nepalese cultural programs full of song and dance and merry-making.
Leaving Ghale Gaun, our trail passes through noisy rhododendron forests and hissing waterfalls and again some hilly terraces of paddies. You will later reach the quaint village of Ghanapokhara. This village is also inhabitated mostly by Ghales.
After breakfast, the trail crosses the Midim River via a suspension bridge. You will then have to climb Khumre Danda before descending to Pasgaun. On the way you can visit a Buddhist Gompa.
On this day your trail makes a steep descent to Rudi river by crossing a suspension bridge. Along Trek from Baglungpani to Laxmi Bazaar (1,300 m)
he way you can have spectacular views of Annapurna and Manaslu mountain ranges.
After breakfast, you will trek downhill to Lake Begnas in Pokhara, where you will enjoy boating or relaxing by the lake. Later, catch a bus to Pokhara and check into the hotel on the lakeside.
Being the beautiful place that Pokhara is, we recommend you to stay a day here exploring around the lake town. Visit Lake Fewa and the the Temple of Barahi located in the middle of it. From there you could visit Devi’s Fall, Cave, Mountain Museum and return to the hotel after dinner.
Today after breakfast, you will either take a flight to Kathmandu or will drive to Kathmandu on a tourist bus.
