Chulu West (6419m) a peak popular among climbers and trekkers. It is a part of Manang. To the south it is bordered by the river Marsyangdi. The region of Chulu massif consists many peaks but the most prominent ones are Chulu East and Chulu West. Prominently, four summits are found in the Chulu region, two on Chulu West and two on Chulu East. Many trekking maps reluctantly feature the higher of the two in each direction, thus the names are there to understand the highest peaks of Chulu region in either direction.
This trek, being strenuous, is suitable for those in top health with medical clearance. Stamina demands capability to carry one’s own backpack if required; but a porter can always be hired before the journey. The trek takes you to remote areas and snow-covered passes at an altitudes of up to 6500m sometimes making use of ice picks and crampons.
