Annapurna Circuit Trekking gives a complete experience of Annapurna Region on foot. It is a rewarding trek of 23 days where you will get inspiring view of mountains accompanied by lush green vegetation, culture, flora and fauna.

In other words, it is a trek that gives complete picture of countryside Nepal. The trek begins anti-clockwise starting from Besisahar and ending at Nayapul (Pokhara) covering around 160 km. The site unfolds natural beauty one after another. The scenic view from Poon Hill, snow-capped peaks and the view of different mountains leave impression stronger forever. 

While on foot you get view of nine peaks ranging from 6000 to 8000m.  Annapurna l to lV, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Manaslu, Gangapurna and Tilicho Peak are the name of the mountains that you will witness on the course.

The other beautiful side of this trek is that you observe culture of this Himalayan nation and understand social harmony existing since thousand years. Muktinath, a common holy shrine of Hindu and Buddhist is its example.

Day

1Arrival in Kathmandu

A representative of Adventure White Mountain Will receive you at international airport of Nepal, Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer you to hotel. Today you can enjoy Thamel as it is one of the cream touring sites of Kathmandu. Tourists believe that Nepal visit is incomplete without visiting Thamel. You will spend night in a hotel.

The real fun begins from today as you get chance to witness at least four UNESCO listed World Heritage Sites of Kathmandu. You visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath Temple, Swoyambhunath Stupa and Bouddhanath Stupa. Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, is regarded as Historic City and Kathmandu Durbar Square is a lively example that speaks about the history of this nation. The site covers five acres of land. Hanuman Dhoka, Swoyambhunath, Pashupatinatha and Bouddhanath are the main place of our visit today. We will spend night in a hotel.

Besisahar is six hour drive from Kathmandu. We reach there either by private vehicle or tourist bus. The ride is beautiful as you get chance to see countryside Nepal from the very start of the drive. We follow the course along Trishuli River. The bridges, lush green vegetation and hills fascinate tourists. We will spoend night in a hotel at Besisahar.

Our trail begins from today. We follow the course along Marshyangdi River. The surrounding is truly pleasing. Around five to six hours of walk will bring us at Bahaundada. Brahmin-Hill is English translation of Bahaundada. We put off here at night.

Early in the morning after breakfast we proceed towards Chamje. On the way we cross few suspension bridges and villages. With the increasing elevation we observe different culture and tradition. We will stay overnight in Chamje.

Enter into Manang district we move ahead towards Bagarchhap. The place inhabits Bhotia people. They are regarded as main inhabitants of this place. Agriculture is the main profession of these people. Bagarchhap means Butcher’s place in English. The roof of houses here is built in flat shape indicating that there is less rainfall. We will stay overnight in Bagarchhap.

We will be walking in rocky trail today. Crossing forests and river we arrive at Tyanja. The view of Annapurna ll from Chame is mesmerizing for every trekkers. It (Chame) is head-quarter of Manang district.

As previous days we will take breakfast and start walking towards Pisang. It is a beautiful trail today. Passing through narrow valley and penetrating thick jungle we move ahead. We get sight of Paungda-dada rock which signifies that we are close to Pisang. Overnight in Pisang.

We will follow dry course which is at upper part of Manang. The district falls under rain shaded area and due to less rainfall the site seems like desert. The huge mountains here block monsoon rains. People of Manang are normally engaged in trading. It is their old occupation. We arrive at Mungji. Passing picturesque sites we arrive at Bryanga. Finally, wearrive at Manang where we will stay overnight.

To adjust body temperature with the increasing altitude we take rest for a day and it is known as acclimatization. To avoid altitude sickness it is essential. Despite being rest day we will keep on roaming near by villages. Here we get chance to view thousand years old caves, monasteries, lakes and many more things. The lifestyle of Mananges people are different from others and this is something new for the trekkers.

Leaving Manang behind we proceed towards Thorang La. It is an ascend trail to arrive at Tenki. Walking along Jhrsang Khola we reach Ledar. This are is popular for snow leaopard and musk deer. We sepnd night in Ledar.

At the beginning we descend and after couple of hours we start climbing to arrive Phedi. There are few houses which are recently built in High Camp. We arrive at High Camp pretty soon from Ledar. It is a kind of acclimatic walk. We put off at High Camp.

It is a steep climb today. Walking slowly we reach at an elevation of 5416. It takes around 4-5 hours to arrive at the elevation. From here we start moving towards Muktinath. It is a descending trail of around 4-5 hours. Muktinath is at an altitude of 3750m. We will put off at Ranipaua. Muktianth is 10 minute walk in distance form here. Muktinath is popular shrine. More than 100,000 pilgrims having faith on both religions—Hindu and Buddhist—visit here. It is a common shrine of Hindu and Buddhist. The temple enshrines Lord Vishnu. In the campus premises of Muktinath there is a temple of Jwala Mai which means Goddess of Flame and it is worshipped as Female Energy. The word Mukti means salvation and Nath refers to Lord. It is believed that the glimpse of temple will liberate pilgrims from the chain of birth and death.

After breakfast we start walking towards Jomsom. The course is truly splendid for trekkers. The climate is so pleasing that you wish to walk here for long time. The sight and scenic beauty will capture your heart. We will spend night in Jomsom.

After breakfast we proceed towards Marpha. It is our first destination for today. Marpha is popular for sweet apples and people here do apple farming in bulk. We walk along Kaligandaki River to reach Tuckuche. The place inhabits Thakali people. Further walk of couple of hours will lead us to Kalopani. Here we spend night.

Today we will be walking along river bank. You witness few waterfalls which is really soothing experience. We cross few bridges before arrive at Tatopani. The word Tatopani means Hot Springs. It is natural hot spring where you can take dip. We will stay overnight in Tatopani.

You will be taking rest today but at the same time exploring local community. The local tradition of this area will be interesting for foreigners.

After breakfast we move towards Ghorepani. It is a simple climbing throughout the day. The walk is truly pleasing as you will be walking through rhododendron forests. We will spend night in Ghorepani.

Now the important day has finally arrived. Today is a day to experience a rare beauty of nature. We get up early in the morning and head towards Poon Hill. Poon hill is a popular hill station. It is even a perfect destination to seize the unbarred beauty of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. The rays of sun beautifully strike on the surface of these mountains will leave everyone stunned. After spending some time here we get back to Ghorepani for breakfast. Ghorepani Poon Hill is one of the best trekking destinations in terms of Nepal. Hundreds and thousands of people come to visit every year. Tadapani is our final destination for today and we will walk towards there after breakfast. We cross forest and few lose settlements to arrive Tadapani where we will spend night.

Ghandruk inhabits Gurung people and is popular for Gurung culture. They are regarded as brave people who are mostly engaged in defense service. There is a Gurung Museum here and it portrays many information about this community. Passing through oak and rhododendron forest we arrive at Ghandruk where we will put off at night. You get view of Lamjung Himal and Manaslu from here.

After breakfast we will be walking towards Nayapul. From Nayapul we hire jeep to arrive Pokhara. In Pokhara we will get some time to enjoy evening walk in lakeside. Boating is another option. We will stay overnight in a hotel.

After breakfast we catch tourist bus to arrive Kathmandu. It is around six hoiurs drive. Here you will get some time to walk around Thamel. Adventure White Mountain will offer farewell dinner tonight. You will put off in a hotel.

Here ends your Jomsom Trekking today. A representative of Adventure White Mountain will drop you to airport three hours before scheduled flight to your onward destination. See you again!!
